Alot of elements are necessary to create an effective business model. Of all the tools, processes, and products we possess, the most important resource in our company are the people within it. We want people on our team who honestly care about the customer and the quality of the product we have delivered to them. We offer an environment where the voice of every person is heard. We love new ideas, whether it be something "behind the scenes" like system documentation, to a detail like how we consistently terminate and dress cables, or new products and trick ways of programming a user interface.
We also think it is a good idea to put a face with a name. We try our very best to answer every call (sometimes the stars align and we receive four phone calls at once and other times one or more of us will be with clients), so when you give us a ring you will likely be speaking to one of the following:
Mike Vann, Owner - Mike relocated to Colorado in 1999 and only regrets not getting here sooner. After burning out in corporate America, he decided to put his passion for audio/video and other technologies to work by forming HomeRun Electronics in late 2000. He holds a degree in Accounting and once was a licensed CPA but grew tired of the continuing education credits required to keep the license current. Plus, many argued he could not have a sense of humor and be a CPA at the same time. Wife Lori and daughter Emily put up with the carousel of product that moves in and out of the family's home (somebody has to test this stuff). They all, along with faithful companion and golden retreiver Nala, enjoy the outdoors as frequently possible.
David Wilson, Manager Field Ops & Project Manager - David is a native of Colorado Springs, leaving to obtain his bachelor's of Marketing degree from Ft Lewis College followed by a year in beautiful San Diego working at a regional audio/video retailer. This experience fueled his passion for the industry and in 2003 he returned to the Springs and began working with HRE. In addition to performing "air traffic" control for our field teams, David works closely on large, multidiscipline projects. David and wife Amber are the proud parents of two beautiful boys, Carter and Eli. David also has a passion for craft beer and as such makes time to home brew his own recipes on a routine basis.
Elaina Abeyta, Sales & Marketing - Elaina has been with HRE since the end of 2008. Prior to HomeRun, she worked in a variety of roles with Ultimate Electronics over a nine year period. Elaina works closely with homebuilders and their buyers to match our various entertainment and security solutions to their specific needs. She currently serves on the Remodeler's Council for the Southern Colorado Housing and Building Association. When she isn't working, she enjoys her time with husband Brad and other family. She stays active by running, hiking, snowboarding and boating, though all those activities take a backseat to any opportunity to travel (she is learning french as we write this). As always Elaina, please take lots of pictures!
Forest Delano, Jacque of All Trades - Forest is an immigrant from Vermont. He discovered that there were even larger outdoor playgrounds than New England and made the leap to Ft Lewis College, graduating with a bachelor's in business degree. Home electronics have always been a hobby (obsession) so calling HRE home was a natural in 2006. As his title implies, Forest has alot of roles here, including backing up our field installers, sales/systems design and project management. Forest also obtained his BICSI certification for commercial information infrastructures. To take full advantage of the playground he lives in, Forest owns four bicycles and as many snowboards. His buddy and speed merchant Marley (she is a german shorthair pointer) also happily occupies alot of his time.
Warren Vann, Office Administration - Warren spent most of his career as an insurance agent with State Farm. He and wife Evelyn relocated to Colorado upon his retirement in 2005. There are only so many trout streams within a 100 mile radius so he opted to continue working, assisting in a variety of ways including freight check-in, accounts payable, and most recently as central vacuum repair technician extraordinaire. During summer, there's a good chance you will see Warren and Evelyn with travel trailer in tow, seeking out the perfect camp setting and nearby trout lake or stream.
The faces above are certainly not the only ones who make HRE what it is. Our field teams are responsible for delivering the products we design and sell. The guys are top notch and equally interested in doing the best job we can. Between us all, we think we have a pretty great team here at HomeRun Electronics, Inc.
